London-based gaming developer, Gaming Realms, has entered into a licensing deal with Sony Pictures Television. You probably recognize the provider immediately as the creator of several Slingo™ variants, along with a wide range of other bingo and slot games. The brand has signed on for a three-year deal, under which it has already gone live with a new site on its proprietary platform, MillionaireGames.com. The site launched, following the return of the UK’s, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,’ in celebration of its 20th anniversary, from which it is loosely inspired.
For those who have not kept up with the series since its inception, the original aired from 1998 to 2014, and has spawned several versions in additional countries across the globe. In addition to the new site, the developer also has plans in the works to go live with an entirely new Slingo variant, complete with ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ branding.
According to Gaming Realms chief executive, Patrick Southton, “We are honoured and excited to be partnering with Sony Pictures Television and developing gaming content around one of television’s most successful gameshows, in celebration of its 20th anniversary.”
“This opportunity is proof of our ability to build creative and innovative content and we look forward to the launch of the new Slingo Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Format in the coming months,” Southton added.
The partnership serves as a major move for the gaming developer, with Sony considered one of the industry’s leading content providers, delivering to multiple genres across the globe.
